My Thoughts:

This purse-sized jar came into my life via my Boxycharm subscription and even though they normally send all full-sized products, I’m only slightly disappointed that it came in the smaller option. The bigger jar would’ve been better, obviously, so that way the product lasted longer, but there are upsides. I LOVE the scent of it! In my opinion, this cream smells more like coconut than their Coco Cabana cream, but I enjoy it because it doesn’t smell like the artificial coconut scent that most other companies create. Normally, that artificially-created scent ends up smelling like Playdough, yet they captured that scent perfectly in this cream formula.

The scent is pretty potent right out of the jar, but it dissipates within a few minutes, and leaves behind a subtle scent that lasts all day. Even though it is potent at first, I like that the smell isn’t one that encourages headaches or migraines for me, but that’s entirely subjective. My best recommendation for people who have easily-triggered migraines is to go to your local Sephora, ask for a sample and try it out for a day, first. That’s the great thing about Sephora! They let you sample just about anything before you buy it because they want to ensure that you’re happy with investing your hard-earned money in trustworthy products. After all, it isn’t just the brand’s name that’s on the line, it’s also Sephora’s for supplying it on their shelves.

My only annoyance with the product is that when I opened it, there was a stain on the inside of the lid, as if it had leaked and aged/dried in the crevice. Not cool when it comes to quality control, guys.

The smaller jar is a bummer, but it also works in my favor. I can easily bring this with me when I travel, and refill it with product from the largest jar so I can carry more of other stuff than taking up weight and room with the larger jar. This small jar saves me bag and counter space & any avid traveler can attest to how important that is. The fact that it came in a jar is also a huge bonus because I have chronic hand and wrist pain and using lotions when squeeze-tubes or bottles adds unnecessary strain on my already inflamed muscles and tendons.

Performance/Wear:                                  ★★★★★/5

Although I didn’t see any of the ‘tightening’ results they advertised, I still think this is a good product. Not only does it smell ABSOLUTELY yummy, but it makes me skin so soft and efficiently moisturizes my dry skin all day. Right out of the jar, it feels thick and luxurious, but it glides easily with no tugging and absorbs quickly, without leaving a residual film on my skin. I appreciate that they took consumers’ schedule into consideration when creating their formula because most people don’t have the time to wait around for products to dry before getting dressed. With its quick-absorbing time, there isn’t a white residue that comes off on dark clothing when rubbed against my skin.

The only downside to the subtleness of the scent is that it gets masked when I wear sun protection over it, so I would love if they made a version of the formula with SPF in it. I understand that they make an oil formula with SPF, which I’m excited to try, but I’d still love to see how they formulate their cream with SPF, while still retaining the same yummy scent to it.

Yeah, I’m a bit bummed (badumtiss!) that this is quite pricey for a product that gets used up so quickly and considering I never saw the tightening results promised in their advertisements. However, I did really enjoy the product for how well it took care of my dry skin, the wonderful scent, and the convenient packaging.
