My Thoughts:

I first tried this product in a value set that I couldn’t turn down. Since then, I’ve had this staple in my kit and I don’t see myself not having it on hand in the future. Works on various complexions and skin types, so, let’s dive in to see what the deal is with this product.

Performance/Wear:                               ★/5

By far the BEST eyeshadow primer I’ve ever worked with! A little goes a long way and the quality is beyond amazing! The skin on our eyes is the most sensitive on our faces so we need to make sure we’re taking care of it so it doesn’t age faster and can hold up a sleek eye look without looking like 80 lbs. are hanging out on our eyelids. This product does just that! All other eye primers I use on myself, I miss with a bit of face oil so that way it’s not only easier on my skin but it will moisturize throughout the day. Is it just me or a lot of eyeshadow primers make our eyelids look like desert? Random thought…anyways, this is the only product that can take care of the skin on my eye with its formula on its own, no oil additions necessary. A little trick I also like to do is use on it on my under eye area for the times I know I’m going to be doing a full face and don’t want any foundation or concealer set into the fine lines under my eyes. Believe me, it works. I can’t say I recommend doing it as an everyday habit but I have yet to test out the integrity of my skin with it daily so if it works for you, please let me know! This product is great for all skin types and I have had great results even on mature clients without any creases. Talk about a do-it-all primer! Now, to test the longevity of this, I slept with my eye makeup on (please, do not do that yourself). Most products tend to leave my eyes burning after sleeping with makeup on but not this one, and guess what?! STILL NO CREASES, SMUDGES, or SMEARS! How amazeballs is that? But seriously, I don’t condone doing that on your own, sleeping with makeup on is horrible for your skin and I did it merely to test out the integrity of the product. Also, for those nights when you go to sleep drunker than a skunk, all you want is a quesadilla, and the last thing on your mind is washing your face. Don’t deny, we’ve all been there at least once. The thing is, we all usually learn our lesson after that one burning morning or bloodshot eyes, racoon makeup, and dehydration/hangover from hell.

The only issue I’ve had with this is the eyeshadow applies like doodoo if you don’t wait the suggested 30 seconds for the product to dry evenly. It ends up looking splotchy and gross and you just end up wasting time and product from having to start over.

Packaging:                                                ★/5

Now, y’all know I’m not a fan of squeeze-tube packaging because it’s not conducive for people like me, with hand/wrist pain/injuries. Ideally, this would be packaged in a bottle with a pump, but it is what it is. Honestly, I’m just grateful it doesn’t come with a wand inside it, that takes up space which means less product for the consumer. I love Urban Decay, but that is my biggest pet peeve about their eye primer packaging, because I feel like its insulting the consumer’s hard-earned dollar and intelligence by charging the same, for less product in the tube. I will give kudos to Estee Lauder (owner of Too Faced) for not disrespecting consumers like that.

Price:                                                          ★/5

With the amount of product you get, the quality of the performace, and none of it is sacrificed for a bacteria-infested wand applicator, yeah, I’d say the price is validated. Another thing I want to mention is that I wear makeup pretty much every day. The only times I skip makeup is days I have a bunch of errands to run or when I’m sick. Even with all that use, this tube lasted me about 4, almost 5 months, which equals to about $0.15 per use. That’s quite a steal for some high-quality product, in my opinion.
