My Thoughts:

This unique lipstick came into my collection via my Glossybox subscription and I gotta admit, I dig it. I’ve received many lip products from Glossybox and this isn’t exactly a favorite, but it doesn’t make the loathe list. There isn’t a scent to it, so that’s good news for people who have migraines or headaches easily triggered by certain smells. Overall, it wears well and I don’t have any complaints on this lipstick, but let’s go ahead and dive into this review.

Packaging:                                                ★★★★★/5

Alright, this company gets major kudos for the original style to this packaging. The structured box shape to the tube is unique and modern and I love that no matter how much you twist it, it can always twist back down to prevent the cream from getting smashed in the top. Now, the lid, that’s a cool feature! I never have to worry about a cap slipping off in my bag because it’s attached to the tube! The clamp is strong so it won’t flip up when rustling up against other stuff in my bag when I bring it along during the day.

I like the strength of the adhesive on the sticker because it has yet to show even the slightest signs of faltering. Most adhesive on label stickers on beauty products fall off within a few months but this hasn’t, yet when it finally does, it will force me to have to write it on with a thin permanent marker.

Performance/Wear:                               ★★★★★/5

I’ll start off by complimenting the great payoff the pigment provides and how well it wears on every skin tone. For fairer skin, it is a bold color, but for darker complexions, it wears well for daily looks. The color provides a subtle shine finish with a smooth, buttery texture that makes applications quick and gentle. A single application lasts me a few hours even with all the chattering I do and as much water as I drink.

I can also use this as a cream blush which works great for traveling because I can carry less stuff. Like many other lipstick formulas this also doesn’t bleed or feather when worn which saves money from needing to but lip liner and lip balm to wear underneath it. When it fades, it fades evenly and leaves a satin finish with a natural looking flush that gives me a buffer between touch-ups. It doesn’t settle into fine lines in my lips or face, when used as a blush, nor does it enhance dry spots so it works well for all skin types.

It doesn’t exactly feel moisturizing, but it also isn’t drying. Instead, it feels like a creamy barrier over my lips that doesn’t penetrate my skin. Transferring and smudging does happen, but it isn’t a burden because it’s gradual and unless you kiss someone aggressively, you should be fine. This plays well with various other formulas, for example, if I want to add a lip gloss for added shine or powder to make it matte, it holds together just fine.

The color doesn’t oxidize so the color you see on the stick is the color you get the entire time you wear it, unless you mix it with some other product. When applied, it shows up opaque with a single swipe without any streaks or choppy coverage.

Price:                                                          ★★★★★/5

The formula isn’t one that wows me because there are so many other awesome formulas out there that are in the same price range, but I do love the unique packaging. I’ve bought more expensive products with just benefits that are just as nice. This isn’t the worst price, but it is quite steep compared to consumers who are used to drugstore brands.
