Perricone MD – No Bronzer Bronzer

Front

Online Description:

What it is:
An innovative serum designed to contour youthful definition while imparting an elegant veil of warm color and protecting with an SPF 30.

What it is formulated to do:
No Bronzer Bronzer mimics healthy skin pigment with one universally flattering shade and diffuses imperfection and sun damage with vitamin C Ester. When used as a contouring serum it accentuates youthful definition. Mix No Bronzer Bronzer with No Foundation Foundation to personalize color and achieve an endless number of shades.

Suggested Usage:
-Dr. Perricone recommends shaking well before using.
-Dispense one to two drops into fingertips, rub together, and gently pat onto upper forehead, cheeks, chin, and nose—where the sun naturally bronzes the skin.
-You can highlight and contour or add to No Foundation Foundation or No Blush Blush to warm and customize color.

My Thoughts:

I really enjoyed this product once I got the hang of using it. I received this in the makeup vault filled with everything needed for the perfect ‘no-makeup’ look. These were the first products I had used that were meant for a no makeup look without building up or setting with powder so it took me awhile to get used to. I’m not a fan of the quick expiration date that comes up shortly after I got this, but it is what it is. The smell also goes on the negative side of this review because it adds to the fishy smell of all the products in this line. Although this bronzer only comes in one color, this isn’t a bronzer that works for my complexion because it’s too orange. I would like to see the company come out with a few more shades that would work on various shades to give people more options to what they would feel more comfortable wearing. The trick the company suggests by adding this to the foundation or the serum to make it darker to match darker skin tones better works, but it doesn’t work with adding it to the blush. It does separate when I don’t touch it for a few days, but nothing a good shake doesn’t fix.

Performance/Wear:                          ★/5

This is true to its name when it claims to have pigment, but remain looking like it’s a natural bronze. It isn’t sheer like the blush is, so less is more and blending is a necessity. The color is a bronz-ey, orange color that I don’t think looks good on me, and it isn’t buildable because it becomes streaky when I tried to. The color lasts all day without breaking down, fading, or becoming blotchy. I love the tear-dropper for applications because I can put a drop in my hand and apply it and blend from there and since the dropper doesn’t touch my face, I could use this on my clients as well. It doesn’t seem to work well with other brand product formulas and it seems to either clump up or separate and become blotchy. It seems to be water-resistant because I’ve worn it on rainy days and it didn’t budge unless I touched my face and smudged it with my hands.

Price:                                                   ★/5

I only need 1 dot for each application (cheeks, nose, forehead, temples) so this tiny bottle lasts me quite some time making the price tag on it more sensible. Initially, the small bottle seemed a bit of a rip-off for how much it costs, but after using it for quite some time, I can see why it is priced how it is. I did sport the ‘no-makeup’ look for a few months straight last year because it is more appropriate when working on my massage clients. Even doing that, I barely made a dent in the quantity of the product and I know I’ll have this even though it’s passed its best buy date, I’ll just no longer use it on clients. For me, I’m a conspiracy theorist (a sensible one, not the one who believes in lizard people) and I believe that most expiration dates are a marketing scheme in order to scare consumers into replacing product sooner.

Packaging:                                          ★/5

I’m such a fan of the sturdy, thick glass used on the bottle and the tear-dropper to dispense product. The small size paired with the sturdy packaging make this great for traveling since it saves space by being smaller than most of my other bronzers and less susceptible to breaking when impacted. The writing on the bottle isn’t the best either since it fades easily when anything I store next to it rubs on it. It seems like the bottle is able to be repurposed which is a win for me because I love being able to reuse packaging if I don’t recycle it.
