My Thoughts:

I got this in a Sephora Favorites lip kit (basically how I get all my deluxe mini lip products) and I LOVE it! I’m not a fan of Bare Essentuals in general, but the Buxom tier to their umbrella is a surprisingly good collection. I’m glad the company has expanded it so far into its own separate line from bareMinerals, because I don’t fare well with that product line. For starters, I REALLY love the smell. It’s a light, sweet smell that dissipates shortly after applying it. I get a little excited each time I have to reapply it because it smells so good. This fades evenly without leaving my lips feeling like they’re dehydrated and leaves a subtle stain that is easy to remove when I wash my face at the end of the day.

Performance/Wear:                          ★/5

This is sheer as the company promised, yet adds dimension with its shimmer. Watch out for the “plumping” ingredients! Immediately, it makes my lips mildly burn, but then feels like I applied Vick’s Vaporub on my lips. Not the goopy, pungent part of it, but that it feels very cooling all day. Each application doesn’t last me very long because I drink a lot of water and chatter quite a bit, but I think for those who are more on the shy or introverted side would have more long-lasting results. There is a surprising amount of pigment for this sheer gloss, but that is not something you’ll hear me complain about! This specific color is a bright, peachy pink, making it perfect to add a splash of bright color to any look. It works wonderful worn over various lipstick formulas when I want to add more pigment to my lips. I never noticed any plumping effects, but I’m not too bothered by that because if I really wanted bigger lips, I’d just go get them filled like everyone else who wanted theirs that way. The texture alone is marvelous because my lips feel so moisturized and the smooth, creamy texture make applications quick and easy! There is no tugging trying to distribute product and no bleeding, despite its thick texture. What surprised me the most is when I first opened it, the formula seemed so thick and goopy like most other glosses that I was hesitant to try it and I contemplated giving it to my sister to see if she’d like it. I’m so glad I gave in to the lovely smell of it and tried it because now, I am looking forward to trying all the other colors from this line! This may not bleed, but it does transfer and smudge so just be cautious with that.

Skin Swatch

Price:                                                   ★/5

“Quality over quantity,” right? I have to remind myself that when I am tempted to resort back to drugstore makeup that is HORRIBLE on my skin and luckily, there are products like these to remind me. Yes, it does seem steep for how much you get compared to drugstore prices, but I promise that it’s worth it. Your lips will thank you for using a product with quality ingredients. Compared to other lip products I love, this price is fair, but then again, everything would be so much better if it was free.

Packaging:                                          ★/5

The tube packaging with a wand is perfect! This is my ideal packaging for any lip product because it’s best for traveling due to it’s skinny form and the tops aren’t as easy to come off in my bag like regular stubby lipstick tubes are. The tip applicator is so soft and gentle on my lips making it a precise and painless application that is free from tugging.
