My Thoughts:

I haven’t really dived back into Clinique in a while and for the life of me, I can’t remember. I have always had the best experience using their products and for some reason, I put them down and haven’t really used them or restocked them since. I saw this on sale on Sephora, because I like to boredom shop, and figured, “why not?” I remembered that I always had great results using these products and my skin was always happy with it so I knew if they hadn’t tampered with their formulas in a negative way or cut quality for profit, I’d be just as pleased. It being on sale was just a bonus. I was kind of bummed that there wasn’t a light signature scent to it, but I’d much rather it has no scent than one that gives triggers a migraine. Since these are limited edition, I’m happy to share that most of the colors in this line are just repackaged colors from their normal line into a Crayola theme which means you can still get the same product, without the design. Another great tidbit about this product is all of these colors are multi-purpose for either cream blushes or bronzers making it less product to travel with and perfect for the makeup minimalist!

Performance/Wear:                          ★/5

When I first got this, I expected a very sheer, lightly pigmented lip balm, and boy, was I taken by surprise! This puts any other tinted lip balm in their places! The fact that it can remain sheer with having so much color to it blew my mind! Most of the time, colors that are sheer have very little pigment to it to be able to maintain visibility through the product on application to avoid it becoming opaque. Whatever magic Clinique put into this, I want them all! I’m very big on wearing natural makeup for myself so tinted lip balms are my jam. I will wear lipstick and stains regularly, but tinted lip balms will always be my favorite because the main focus is the integrity of the lips, instead of integrity of the lipstick. The wonderful balm ties both qualities together! It has the insane moisturizing power of an intense lip balm, with the pigment of a cream lipstick, all while never compromising the integrity of the health of my lips or the quality of the product. I never have an issue with bleeding or feathering and when this balm fades, it’s gradual and even, leaving a subtle stain that isn’t a nightmare to remove at night when I wash my face. This can also double as a cream blush since it’s so healthy for the skin and won’t leave a stain that is hard to wash off. I’m all for multi-purposing things to make the most money out of stuff and to save time and space. With that in mind, this is perfect to travel with considering its size and versatility. The main difference between this and my other favorite lip balm from Fresh, is that this doesn’t contain SPF like the Fresh ones do. This does transfer like pretty much every other lip balm does, but that’s not a concern for me considering all the benefits it gives back. Application is quick and easy, without any tugging or pulling from the product to try and disperse it around my lips.

Skin Swatch

Price:                                                   ★/5

I didn’t even pay retail price for this, so that alone is a steal. I ended up getting this on sale for $8.50 and for the same pigment punch this packs and how crazy moisturizing it is like my other favorite lip balm from Fresh, this is so worth it. Not to mention, even at its full price, this is still cheaper than the Fresh lip balms that I normally get.

Packaging:                                          ★/5

The cap is a bit temperamental, but the fact that it’s a twist-up stick more than makes up for it. I despise sharpening products because I’m basically tossing out money, but twist-ups not only save time and space, but they’re much less wasteful. The design may seem more on the juvenile side and I’ve read a lot of reviews from people who said they prefer to leave this at home because they don’t want to be judged by people who will think they’re childish for the design. To that, I say, “who cares?” If something works for you, makes you happy, and doesn’t physically harm anyone else, what would it matter what anyone else thinks that you use or spend your money on. For the record, I love this stuff and every time I’m asked about it, I proudly show it, mention that the design gives me nostalgia to happy memories of my youth and recommend where they can get it. Since this is limited edition, I mention that and tell people that a lot of the Crayola colors in this line are the same colors as the regular line, without the packaging. The chubby size of it makes it much easier on my hand and wrist issues holding something without straining to do so. Whenever I use lip liners or eyeliners, it causes pain in my hands and wrist, but the wide size of this makes it so much easier to grip and pain-free.
