Too Faced – Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick (Sell Out)

Product Info

Online Description:

What it is:
A lightweight, long-wearing liquified matte lipstick with a creamy and matte, color-rich formula.

What it does:
Matte color gets a makeover. Too Faced’s innovative formula glides onto lips like a gloss but dries to an ultra-matte, opaque finish. Melted Matte ensures that your lip color always looks rich, full, and kissable—and is never dry, shriveled, or cracked. The doe-foot applicator comfortably coats lips in bursts of intense, vivid matte color that lasts for hours. It’s infused with Volulip for a no-sting plumping and smoothing effect and antioxidant-rich avocado oil and vitamin E to moisturize, while hyaluronic filling spheres smooth the look of lip lines. It comfortably coats lips with a wash of intense, high-impact, super-saturated color that lasts for hours.

Suggested Usage:
-Layer on two shades to create a custom matte color.

My Thoughts:

I cannot rave enough about this lip product! I got this out of the Sephora – Sephora Favorites (Give Me Some Lip & Liner) set as a deluxe mini and I am OBSESSED with it! This lipstick is on my list of favorite matte lip products behind Tarte’s lip paint. I’m one of those weird people that actually like the general smell of lipstick and to me, it’s more of nostalgia that takes me back to when I first started using makeup. Since this has that, it brings a bit of nostalgic happiness whenever I use this. The biggest winning factor for me is that this doesn’t damage my lips. I have experienced far too many awful products that leave my lips jaded beyond repair with painful cracks, overdried and needing days without makeup to heal. Thank you, Jerrod for your company formulating this AMAZING matte lip product!

Performance/Wear:                          ★/5

This is my second favorite matte lip product! It wears so well, is incredibly pigmented, and doesn’t feel damaging to my lips. I still suggest applying lip balm prior to application for preventative measures, but this doesn’t leave my lips feeling like the Sahara Desert. I love how the wand is soft and creates a precise line that makes for a flawless lip that lasts. It doesn’t bleed which saves money from having to buy a separate lip liner to be able to use this. Transferring isn’t the biggest issue for me since I talk a lot and drink plenty of water throughout the day so I’m used to reapplying. Plus, all the lip products that aren’t transferrable have ingredients in them that damage my lips because they adhere too well to my skin, so I’m honestly happy this doesn’t stick that well. The only time I have to worry about smudging is when I change, but I picked up the habit of wearing a button up over the top I’ll be wearing that day as to avoid makeup smearing onto my shirt. The color is so intense and rich that it’s hard to believe a nude color could look so bold. It’s probably because I’m pretty pale, but oh well, this color is still gorgeous. My main suggestion would be to sample it before you buy it, because the color does dry to a much darker brown than the color that you can see through the tube, so I imagine all the colors do that. I also like how this takes a bit longer to dry than most matte liquid lipsticks because it makes it easier to apply or fix a mishap if you don’t have to worry about messing up product that’s already dried. Many other matte lip products will rub off if you try to apply fresh product over it, kind of like writing over things on a white board with dry erase markers. Weird analogy, but it’s the only thing I can recall at the top of my head that works the same way. Fortunately, this doesn’t do that even if it does dry in the middle of an application. I always suggest completely removing any lip product before reapplying, but sometimes, we don’t have makeup wipes on us and this will continue to work just as brilliantly regardless. Luckily, this also doesn’t stain or stick to my lips when I wash my face at the end of the day. Some of the more resilient products will, forcing me to exfoliate the heavens out of my lips, further damaging them, but this product saves me from that and also cuts out the time I would have wasted doing so.

Price:                                                   ★/5

Definitely worth it. Of course, everything would be better if it was free, but quality-wise, the price is fair.

Packaging:                                          ★/5

The sturdy tube and compact size make it great for travel. Some companies go a little too extravagant with their packaging, but this keeps the style simple and chic while maintaining professionalism and sophistication. I love the wand because it feels so soft and applies product quickly and precisely.

  2. That lipstick sounds so nice. The colour is really pretty too, even though I am sure it would make me look more like a corpse with lipstick 😉
I never had a matte lipstick before, and I have been wondering whether to buy one or not. Those you get at my local stores do not seem so appealing, as the quality is not that good.
Do you think I should get a Too Faced one but in another colour?

Oh and I wanted to mention that I really like the way you make your reviews. It is really thorough and I love that you write every detail down that could matter to your readers. ❤

    • Thank you! Your positive feedback really means a lot! I totally get the frustration with drugstore makeup, because I can’t wear most of it because it causes a terrible reaction to my skin. If you’re wanting to try out this product, but you’re insure about a color, a safe bet would be a shade that is either 2 shades lighter or darker than your natural lip color. I think this color would look great on you! You would just have to coordinate your makeup to be around your lips being the main focus if it does show up very dark on you. If you decide to snag one of these and write a review on it, please link it below so I can check it out!
