My Thoughts:

I can always rely on Glossybox to send routine mascaras to replenish when I need to replace my mascara for a new one. Before this, I had only tried skincare products from this company, all with great results so I was pretty excited to try this out. It smells like the general mascara smell along with the same texture as any other mascara. The wand looks like most other mascara wands, yet some other mascaras have awful formulas because they still clump and flake and rip out my eyelashes at the end of the day, so it has the be the formula that is the problem there. With this, the formula AND the wand work hand-in-hand to create full, beautiful lashes. If you want a super dramatic look, border lining on spider legs, you’ll need to apply actual false lashes. For myself, I loathe wearing false lashes so this works out perfect, but that’s merely a personal preference. I can’t vouch for the contact lens wearing folks, but being one of the people who has sensitive eyes in the sense that my eyes water easily (yes, makes applying makeup frustrating) and my eyes feel very heavy and cause drowsiness for me when I do wear makeup, this doesn’t seem to cause that effect on me for the most part. Yes, my eyes still water during the application, but they don’t water throughout the day like they normally do when I wear makeup and my eyes don’t feel weighed down or cause drowsiness which is a win in my book! I received the color black, but from what I’ve seen online, they also sell a brown color which I’m interested in trying for the days I wear minimal makeup like tinted moisturizer, mascara, and tinted lip balm. When I got closer to the 3-month mark to replace this, I did notice that the product seemed a bit thicker and drier but that’s to be expected with not only its small size, but also the accumulated amount of air that’s pumped into it over time.

Performance/Wear:                          ★/5

From the first use, this applied and wore brilliantly. Whether it’s the wand or the formula that does the trick or a combination of the two, this applies to well by coating my eyelashes evenly, creating fuller, thicker, longer lashes. I can’t say this has curled my lashes, but if you just use an eyelash curler prior to it, that’ll fix that. The pigment is very thorough and even on my lashes and although it does clump if you aren’t careful, that also is an easy fix with a lash comb. I never had an issue with it flaking off throughout the day and on the occasion where the mascara got on my eyelid after I applied eyeshadow, it wasn’t a chore to remove or cause me to have to start over. Just a dense, short-haired brush to remove it and a bit of eyeshadow to reapply for pigment purposes and my eye look was good as new. It’s very buildable to go from a natural and flushed look to looking like the most natural falsies, you know, those ones that still look like false lashes but they’re the most toned-down ones. One of my major deciding factors on whether or not a mascara product is worth the investment is its removal process. This mascara surprisingly is easily removeable considering how well it holds up during the day. Just hold a mascara remover wipe or a warm, wet makeup eraser towel for a few seconds to allow it to break down the hold and it wipes off in a jiffy. Best part? I don’t see as many eyelashes lost from being yanked out by the product. Some mascaras hold too well onto the lashes and would rather take them with them when I try to remove product, especially waterproof formulas, but I love that this doesn’t. My lashes are left feeling soft instead of brittle and dry like some other formulas cause.

Price:                                                   ★/5

Wouldn’t it be great if everything was free? I think that’s probably the only way I’d rate anything a 5 star, but this price in particular doesn’t really come as a surprise to be honest. My regular favorites from Lancôme and Benefit are around the same price if not slightly more expensive. That being said, I would purchase the full size if my other 2 favorite mascaras were no longer sold because this one comes in as my third favorite to date.

Packaging:                                          ★/5

There’s nothing out of original about this packaging and I don’t mean that to be of any offense by any means. I think the mini is a nice introduction to the product without any distracting physical features that allows the quality of the product that speaks for itself. The full-sized product is obviously more dressed up, but also not in a way that might take away from the focus of the product quality. The tube has a spiral texture in its design that suits the sophisticated silver color of the tube. The gold band creates a nice contrasting color, without making the overall design look like a blundered mess.
