My Thoughts:

I received this full-size product from my Glossybox subscription and I’m always more excited to get makeup products from them over other kinds of products. The scent took me a bit off guard because it does have a chemical smell to it, but it’s one of those weird smells that aren’t appealing, yet we like them for some reason. Kind of like how some people like the smell of gasoline or freshly cut grass. Both smells aren’t liked by everyone, but some psychological reasoning influences us to like it. Regardless, the smell dissipates quickly so even if you’re not a fan of it, it doesn’t last long. The cloudy appearance to the tube makes it seem like a different color, but it’s surprisingly bright pink. Not exactly hot pink, but bright enough to take all attention for the makeup look that day. It is INCREDIBLY pigmented and likewise doesn’t require much product for each application.

Performance/Wear:                          ★/5

The soft wand applicator and the creamy consistency make for a quick and easy application which in turn saves time and sanity. I’ve lost count the amount of lip products that make applying a nightmare by being messy, too thick or too thin of consistency, and what not. All having one reason or another to waste my time and sometimes my makeup which would frustrate anyone having to start over. Initially the texture feels very luxurious and creamy, but it dries relatively quickly so it’s a good thing the wand makes it a cinch to apply! It doesn’t bleed on its own making it that much easier on everyone’s pocket not having to buy lip liner to use this. This is incredibly drying on the lips just like Kat Von D’s liquid lipsticks, so I suggest using a lip balm prior to protect your lips from that excessive damage. If not, when the time comes during the day, you’ll have the most uneven, cracked lips to try applying this product on which will only get worse with another coat of this. The smudge factor goes the same for transferring, meaning minimal to none. The only time I needed this product after its initial application was to reapply after eating. Other than that, my glasses stayed clean and my lips stayed matte and pigmented so matter how chatty I got. I’m not a fan of how it creases with the lines in my lips, making my lips look uneven and jaded. In turn, it’s counterproductive to it being so durable during its wear. When this doesn’t dry evenly causing the most unprofessional finish, it defeats the purpose of it working so well not to bleed or smudge. It adheres so well to my lips (makes sense that it doesn’t smudge or transfer easily) that it causes little tears in my lips regardless if I try removing it with a makeup remover wipe or a cleansing product. My lips have to recuperate for a couple days after using this because of how painful the little tears are from removing this and that’s without using pressure. I’ve tried letting a wipe sit on my lips for a minute before attempting to wipe it off and other methods recommended online and have yet to have a good removal experience.

Here’s what it looks like wet and dry:

Price:                                                   ★/5

For how bad the cons are to this, I gotta say this is not worth the money. For all its benefits, I was really hoping for a better opinion of this, but until they reformulate, I gotta say I can’t agree with the price they market this at.

Packaging:                                          ★/5

This is by far my favorite way lipsticks are packaged. The wand inside the tube makes it so much easier to travel with and much simpler for application. I also appreciate that this maintains more sanitation for my makeup kit because I can just swab a bit of this after I pull out the wand on to the clean tray and use a clean wand to apply on different clients. With lipsticks as sticks, I have to shave off a bit at a time with my spatula, and that doesn’t always work out and cause the tube to either smush under pressure or more comes off than I intended to shave. The cloudy look makes it look more luxurious, but I am disappointed at how frustratingly weak the adhesive is on the information sticker on the bottom of the tube. That little bugger falls off more often than I drink water in the day which frustrates the heck out of me because I’m kind of OCD about preserving the integrity of the packaging.
