I got this out of the Pink Diamond Glossybox and I was pretty excited that it was a full-size, but yet a bit hesitant because it is a matte product and those usually don’t work out well for my dry, sensitive skin. Don’t get me wrong, I love the elegance from the look of the matte lip as much as the next person, but I hate how matte products make my skin feel the Sahara Desert up close. And what a surprise it was that it glided on so smoothly! I love the multi-purpose intent for this product, however, this specific color is too dark for my cheeks, but works great for my lips. I don’t recommend trying it as an eyeshadow like some beauty gurus do, because your eye area has incredibly delicate skin and putting something on this that’s meant to dry out its base, would do unnecessary stress to your eye skin. I hate that it doesn’t twist up and I have to sharpen it to get more product. Sharpening products always feels wasteful to me because as I sharpen to get more product, it seems to waste half of it as I go. This has become not only one of my favorite lip products in general, but also a favorite matte lip product. I had been on the opposing side of matte products because they always seemed to do more damage than they’re worth, but then I came across formulas like this one where matte products didn’t dry out my skin to oblivion. Now, I’m more willing to buy and use matte products because my skin isn’t taking days to heal from it when I use products with fabulous formulas like this one. Since this product leaves little need for touch-ups throughout the day, this product lasts longer saving money down the road.
Performance/Wear: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★/5
As far as general wear goes, it worked well on my lips, not so much on my cheeks. The product glides so effortlessly, applies like a cream lipstick and dries into a matte finish. My best suggestion when using this on the lips is apply a thin layer of lip balm prior to applying this so your lips don’t get as dry as they would on their own. I love that this rids the need for lip liner and how intensely pigmented it is! Holy moly! Even the slightest of pressure I use, this still deposits so much pigment! Which is why I didn’t have much luck using this on me cheeks. It is just way too dark and regardless how much I try to blend it out or wipe off excess, it never looks right. It either is too dark or dries before I can blend it out to look normal and I have to use a makeup wipe to start over. Regardless, I don’t feel like putting any more extra stress on my skin nor waste any more product trying to make that work. I will, however, use this on my lips until the company discontinues the product. It stains my lips well and evenly so when it does start to fade from my lips, it doesn’t look like I made out with a bunch of randos at a club. Touch-ups are a cinch and never bleeds regardless how much talking or drinking I do. I would recommend removing it to eat like everyone normally does, but as I mentioned before, the stain still keeps your lips looking good. Just a reminder, to re-apply after to re-gain that intense pigment back. And they meant INTENSE when they slapped it on the packaging. This doesn’t dry out lips as intensely as most matte lip products, but it does absorb some moisture from your lips to be able to obtain a matte finish. It does seem to be waterproof because the only thing that removes it is abrasion of some sort (i.e. talking or drinking).

Price: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★/5
The price is kind of neutral for me. Yes, it does seem pricey for the amount you get, but for how long this much product lasts compared to other matte lipsticks, this takes the win. Also, with it being multi-purpose, it makes it more worthwhile to buy a product that saves you from using more money on separate products. My suggestion would be starting off with ones that match your complexion for both lips and cheeks first, then, grow your kit from there. That way, you’re making the most of your money while saving up towards more of this awesome product, if you end up loving this as much as I do.
Packaging: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★/5
It has a business-woman-by-day-bar-fly-by-night feel to its packaging, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. That makes it more sensible to take with on different occasions. I think we all grow out of the rainbow packaging that gives us all nostalgia, and we prefer to carry products with us that show that we’re someone to respect. And this sleek, yet simple packaging demands just that. Also, the cap isn’t very secure, so I’d suggest keeping it upright in a pocket in your purse that way in case the cap does slide off, it isn’t going to ruin the entirety of your bag. That’s probably a good thing with this not being a twist lipstick. If it were, I think the mess potential would be much greater.
