😍Oh, my! Can you say, “gorgeous?!” I love this product. It not only wears well over makeup as a highlight, but also looks perfect for a natural look for your typical makeup minimalist. This is very light so if you want the kind of glow for a glammed-out look, you’ll need to layer this on. Overall, this works best as a subtle highlight, but it isn’t impossible to create a more noticeable illumination. I got this out of a limited edition Glossybox and it well more than paid for itself with this product alone (I got it with a discount). There isn’t a scent to it and my inner brat is dancing because certain smells cause me to have migraines and I get grumpy and rude when that happens. I admire that the color/shade is a universal one resulting in a more natural wear for any complexion. I do think this product will get enough attention for Josie to create more shades for this product, but I think I would still stick to this one unless she created a palette with multiple shades. It feels so silky when you touch it, but I prefer to apply it with a brush. It honestly feels so magical to the touch and it feels wonderful on my dry, sensitive skin. It has become a go-to for me because of how subtle it is. Most days that I don’t wear a full face of makeup, I’ll use mascara, tinted moisturizer, tinted lip balm, and this and be set for the day. I really respect Josie for keeping her products cruelty-free. I love my furry friends as much as the next guy, so I appreciate when companies go the extra mile to help protect them since they don’t have a voice of their own. Do I think my dog would look super adorable with a touch of highlight? Sure, but that doesn’t mean he should be the test animal for it. It does cost companies more money to hire test subjects, but it gains so much more respect from customers and that builds a loyal audience that will retain income for them.
Performance/Wear: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★/5
I prefer to use this for more natural looks and it seems it was formulated for that intention. It doesn’t smudge or cause any kind of reaction over makeup, which is awesome because it’s quite the gamble when you mix brands that use different formulations. Did I mention the multi-purpose capabilities this bad boy has? So, you can change it up from using under foundation on oily skin to give a subtle glow to your base but helping set the product. If you mix it with water, you can use it as an enhancer for liquid eyeliner or you can use wet or dry to any eye look for an extra pop of drama. Now, it can be applied with both hands and a brush, but I don’t recommend a sponge. When using your fingers, just be mindful not to use a heavy hand to avoid unnecessary smudging. There aren’t any issues with fallout like I’ve experienced with the Anastasia highlighters which is great for the pocket because it results in less waste. There is no Tin Man look from this, regardless how much you layer on because it blends so well which is worth an extra star because that is hard to avoid with most other highlighter products.

Now, this is quite the awesome product, but do I think it is worth the money? Probably not. It is phenomenal quality, but I would rather invest in the palettes that are around the same price or a bit more. When I have a budget bigger than my current one, I’d definitely splurge on this, but not on my current budget. For those who do have more room to spend on makeup, this is a good investment considering how a little goes a long way, but not one I would pick up personally just yet.
Packaging: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★/5
I was impressed with every angle of the packaging. It is luxurious, yet simple. The box has a sophisticated look to it with enough print on the outside to display necessary information, but not so much that it overpowers the overall personality of the packaging. Now, the compact is even better than the box. Sleek much? I’m in love! The compact is so elegant, sleek, and captivating, I immediately fell in love. I love the cute message Josie wrote on the mirror on the inside of the compact. It gives it a more personal feel, even though it is mass-produced. The rose-gold hue that the package comes in is the key to my heart in all this. Rose-gold is one of my favorite…colors? Does that count as a color? Whatever, I can Google it later. I love it way more than white-gold, platinum, or regular gold. The casing feels very sturdy so it makes it great for travel. I’m glad there wasn’t a sponge included because most companies include one which I find wasteful and unnecessary.
