What it is:
A saltwater-based styling spray for fine to medium, healthy hair.
What it does:
This styling spray adds volume and texture to the hair to create a sexy, wind-blown feel. Its salt-infused formula adds fullness, hold, and a cool, matte finish. Salt water is no secret to editorial stylists for adding volume and texture, and anyone who has been in the ocean knows of that salty, sexy, sun-dried, wind-styled feel (that seems such a shame to wash out). So while Bumble and bumble hasn’t exactly bottled the real thing, they’ve replicated and improved it, including seaweed and kelp extracts to enhance moisture.
What else you need to know:
Excellent for wavy types and landlocked surfers with winter blues, this spray adds body to fine hair and adds a nice texture for silver hair.
-Spray evenly on damp or dry hair.
-Style and let dry (stand in the wind) or use a diffuser.
-Layer Surf Spray on top of Grooming Creme for a soft, flexible, beachy texture.
This smells like table salt mixed with hairspray instead of smelling like ocean water. It gives texture and ‘meh’ waves in my hair, but I wasn’t impressed at all. My natural hair has more shape than this and I was hoping this would hold that shape without crunch, but it disappointed me. This left my hair frizzy with a gritty feel from the texturizing ingredients that they used in the formula. For the price, you’re better off buying the Alterna wave spray or the Sexy Hair beach wave spray. The most part of being let down by this was how hyped up this product was by the Sephora employee when I bought the hair kit that had this deluxe sample in it. Save your money and buy another product that not only works better, but doesn’t leave your hair feeling like dirt.
Texture: Liquid in the bottle, a little gritty to the touch when dried
