My Thoughts:

I received this product from Origins through Influenster and wanted to try it out for at least a month to test the accuracy of the results promised in the advertising before I reviewed it. I LOVE the Origins – GinZing (Energy-Boosting Moisturizer) and the Origins – GinZing (Refreshing Scrub Cleanser) that came in the set, but this fell short on the expectations from this line. It has a nice texture that isn’t too thick or too thin and applies smoothly without tugging on my skin or running into my eyes. The shimmer in it does create a light-reflecting effect, which helps blur dark under eyes, but not entirely because this has a pink hue to it and yellow is ideal to cancel out that purple color we all know too well under our eyes. I was kind of let down when it didn’t have the same invigorating scent as the cleanser and moisturizer, but maybe it’s because that would be too intense around our eye areas, who knows. It dries really weird and doesn’t work well with makeup. Every time I try applying my eyeshadow primer or foundation over this, it just clumps together and rub off which is too wasteful for both skincare and makeup products. Other than that, it works well as an eye cream that’s worn alone which has been a usual for me since I don’t like to wear makeup when I’m giving someone a massage. I love that it comes in a jar making it easy to use for those of us with hand and wrist pain and able to repurpose (yay, helping the environment!) The style of the packaging is very chic and classy. They went simple with it, but added the extra sturdiness to the thickness of the jar and the small details that add extra elegance to the inner lid with their logo on it. Overall, this was a pretty good eye cream, but the makeup issue is a deal breaker. If I ever ditch makeup cold turkey, I’ll reach for this little guy at the store.
