Urban Decay – Eyeshadow Primer Potion (Anti-Aging)

Online Description:

We found a way to make our legendary Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion better than ever. With revamped packaging that includes an applicator, Eyeshadow Primer Potion looks more gorgeous and applies with more versatility. And our formula still packs the same powers: anti-aging benefits, all-day, crease-free shadow, more vibrant color and smoother application.

This revolutionary paraben-free formula features space-age polymer technology that fills in any imperfections on the skin’s surface, prepping your lids for all-day shadow. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll never want to live without it.

Our anti-aging Potion also measurably improves the signs of aging over time. High-tech ingredients fight wrinkles and improve tone and texture, while optical blurring pigments create a subtle, soft-focus effect that instantly wakes up tired eyes and minimizes the appearance of redness, crepiness and other imperfections.

In an 8-week clinical study:

  • 100% of participants had a measurable improvement in the appearance of fine lines.
  • 100% had measurably brighter skin.
  • 97% had a measurable improvement in radiance and clarity.

Optical blurring pigments diffuse light to blur flaws, while advanced anti-aging ingredients help prevent and repair wrinkles and other signs of age-related damage. Dermaxyl® helps smooth the appearance of wrinkles, and Kalpariane® plumps, firms and hydrates skin as it improves suppleness and elasticity.

The shade is similar to our Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion, which dries down invisibly, but with a tiny bit of sheer pigment to even out and color-correct the skin.

My Thoughts:

This is a nice difference from their original formula. I have mixed feelings about their original formula, but this one really turned my frown upside down. I don’t have an allergic reaction to this one, I notice the color correction, and it does feel nice on the skin. With their other formula, I feel dry, tacky-ness when applying but this formula doesn’t have that effect. My recommendation with this is that when you apply it, you leave your eye closed, let it dry, then apply the product. I’ve noticed that it will kind of smudge around until it dries if you try applying product immediately after and then the blending required to correct that is a chore. What I DON’T recommend is doing what I’ve seen on a lot of makeup videos and applying foundation to your eyes when you’re applying your base and then going to apply eye shadow primer to your eyes. At that point, you compromise the integrity and longevity of the product and you may be unhappy with the results, and blame the wrong thing. I didn’t notice any help with holding vibrancy or pigment in any eyeshadows and still am required to apply a white eye shadow primer over this to get a brighter pigment result. I can’t say that I noticed any anti-aging differences because of this product because I constantly swap between different eye shadow primers depending on the brand of eyeshadows I’m using that day, but all-in-all, the holding power and the fact that it didn’t dry out the skin on my eyelids is what gets a thumbs up from me. It did its job, plain and simple.
