Tarte – Smooth Operator Amazonian Finishing Powder (Bronze)

Online Description:

What is it: A micronized clay finishing powder that provides the perfect finishing touch while adding a natural touch of bronze to your complexion.

Who is it for: Anyone who wants to perfect and finish their look while adding a glow to their skin.

Why is it different: tarte’s silky-smooth finishing powder mattifies, minimizes the look of pores, and replenishes all skin types while adding a natural-looking glow to your face. Amazonian clay works to balance the skin by reducing dryness and flakiness, improving skin clarity and texture, and removing surface oil for a soft, flawless, lit-from-within finish.

My Thoughts:

So I got this powder in a set awhile back and to rip the Band-Aid off quick: it’s discontinued. As far as powders go, it does apply easily with a smooth, silky result and without any blotchy spots. This is great for a setting powder for darker complexions (obviously) and can only be used as a bronzer for lighter complexions. On the plus side, it is matte so it has a natural, finish whether used for setting foundation or for contouring. Downside, it’s more on the red skin tone side of the spectrum and is more ideal for those with olive skin tones to help balance out. With my skin (neutral), I can barely use any for contour because it easily appears dark and orange with my complexion. Honestly, I’m glad it’s discontinued because anytime I tried traveling with it, it ended up a mess, even with the container still closed. Not sure how that happened, but my drawer always ended up filled with brown powder matching the exact shade of this product so it’s clear who the culprit was lol.
