My hair is pretty dense so in order to have curls hold for even a few hours, I have to have a lot of layers in my hair so it doesn’t weight down. This product is the only tool I’ve come across that not only curls my hair quickly, but gives me curls that last all day! I’ve tried every trick under the sun from hundreds of different products, different hot tools, techniques from anywhere and anyone, yet nothing worked for me and my hair would be back to lazy waves within an hour or 2. Clamp-free curlers are a huge thing now and it’s a good thing, too! Clamps not only cause the “fishtail” crimp at the bottom but it also holds so much heat at your ends and if your stylist hasn’t informed you yet, that is BAD NEWS! Your ends are the driest out of your strands because they are generally pretty far from the root (Long-haired speaking, of course) so they don’t get the natural oils your scalp produces to protect your hair. From weather, to products, your hair tends to get pretty dehydrated and then you add a hot tool on to the mix, you’re asking for a more frequent trip to your stylist for trims. These types of curlers work better because you start wrapping your hair around the barrel around the root/mid area of your hair and that way the ends is the last place to hit heat not only preserving the integrity of your hair, but since the heat was up higher on your strand longer, it’s more prone to hold better. This product really does heat up quickly which is nice because that wraps it into a quick and easy product to use with its speedy and efficient results. The barrel change option is a blessing, talk about a space saver! Anyone who’s big on beauty supplies or is a Cosmo, understands that space efficiency is key! From all our brushes, color bowls, hot tools, capes, etc., space gets filled up and quickly and if we have to store things away from our stations, that not only takes away important time in the service, but it also takes away from your client’s experience with you. It does take a bit of getting used to and I mean that with the upmost precaution. I burned myself I don’t know how many times trying to figure out how to work my arms with it because my muscle memory was so adjusted to the old way curlers worked. The price initially was an issue for me but when you do the math, it equals out to 4 other separate curlers if you decided to go the other route so it’s not as scary when you perceive it that way. Long story short: it’s quick, it’s easy, it works, and it’s worth it.
Handling: It’s pretty light and the handle isn’t big so my hands don’t get cramped.
